About two dozen heroes emerged during Northwestern Lehigh’s march to a PIAA 3A football championship, none more productive than Eli Zimmerman. Zimmerman reconfigured multiple program records on his final run with the Tigers, rushing for 2,665 yards and 27 touchdowns. Defensively, he turned in six interceptions and returned six punts for touchdowns.
4 area players selected to Class 1A and 3A all-state football teams, including two repeat players
Four area players were named to the 2024 Football Writers' Class 1A and 3A all-state teams. Northern Cambria senior quarterback Ty Dumm earned a repeat selection on the Class 1A team. Windber senior linebacker Lucas Oleksa also was selected to the Class 1A squad.
