New expedition heads to Nikumaroro Island to examine satellite evidence that may solve the 88-year mystery of aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart's disappearance during her world flight.

Purdue University, which helped fund her historic 1937 flight, said it will send a team to a remote island in the South Pacific this fall.
