The 2025 NFL schedule release blows out the doors on Wednesday evening. While we already know the Detroit Lions home and road opponents for the coming season, the sequence and schedule of games haven't been unveiled.

NFL schedule is officially released, full of some very interesting matchups. While the opponents have been determined for months, we finally know when (and what network) the biggest matchups in the league will be taking place.

The Detroit Lions open the season vs. the Packers, host Green Bay again on Thanksgiving play every road game in a primetime or national TV window.

Thanksgiving tripleheader will see the Lions host the Packers in an NFC North tilt, the Cowboys welcome the Chiefs and a Bengals-Ravens AFC North showdown in the night cap.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the two NFC North foes will square off on Thanksgiving at 1 p.m. at Ford Field, meaning the Lions will play a division rival for a third year in a row. The game will be televised on FOX.

Morton came back to the Lions as offensive coordinator after Ben Johnson left that position to become the head coach of the Chicago Bears. Detroit wide-receivers coach Antwaan Randle El left with him to become assistant head coach/wide-receivers coach in Chicago.

According to Fox insider Jordan Schultz, the Detroit Lions are scheduled to play the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 1.
