A new Oklahoma DUI law takes aim at deadly crashes as officials warn that far too many people are dying on state roads.
Joel Stephan Goble, 40, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for second-degree murder and seven years of probation for his involvement in the deadly crash. The crash happened on Oct. 5, 2024. Authorities said Goble was drinking at multiple locations before he got into his truck and sped down U.S. 60 at more than 100 mph.

In their preliminary report, GSP said Bacot, who was driving a GMC Acadia, first hit a Kia Soul, then lost control and hit a Toyota Highlander. The driver of the Kia was seriously injured, and the passenger, Donna Pitts, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
