Special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law and businessman Jared Kushner arrived in Israel on Monday morning to bolster the ceasefire agreement and to continue implementation of the second phase of Trump's 20-point Gaza plan.

After more than two years in captivity, the last 20 hostages abducted during Hamas's Oct. 7, 2023, attacks, have been released.

One body Hamas returned to Israel as part of the ceasefire deal "does not match any of the hostages," the Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday.

No names were immediately released. The bodies were in Israel and were being taken to the country’s National Institute of Forensic Medicine.

Both presidents brokered deals that resulted in Hamas releasing people it took captive during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Some former captives have been sent home from the hospital. But a doctor said they all had “endured untold adversity,” as details emerge of their time in Gaza’s tunnels.
