Signifcant injuries are reported as the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst fires rage over thousands of acres in southern California, leaving schools closed and nearly 400,00 without power

At least two people were reported dead in Los Angeles County on Wednesday as multiple life-threatening wildfires burned across the region, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who declared a state of emergency, urged residents to evacuate after he witnessed buildings destroyed by the blaze.

According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire, there are three wildfires currently scorching Los Angeles County: the Palisades Fire, at nearly 3,000 acres; the Eaton Fire, over 2,000 acres; and the Hurst Fire, about 500 acres. As of Wednesday morning, none of the fires have been contained.
