Daikin Park fell silent early Sunday evening following a violent collision at first base. Both participants in the frightening scene appear to be rather unscathed as of Monday morning. San Diego Padres infielder Luis Arráez bunted a ball in the top of the first inning of Sunday's series finale.

Shildt added that Arraez had passed concussion protocol, although there was a scary moment where he “wasn’t aware of where he was” after the collision. After the game, Arraez, freshly released from the hospital, rejoined his teammates in the clubhouse after a 3-2 defeat of the Astros.
