When the OKC Thunder won its first NBA championship in June, school was out, so students in OKC are celebrating the win at the team's season opener.

The city installed new signs at each interstate entrance to the Oklahoma City limits with the text “Home of the 2025 NBA Champions.” The new signage is timed with “ OKC Thunder Day ” and celebrations on Tuesday, Oct. 21, Mayor David Holt said via text message to Oklahoman reporters.
