Liam Neeson has criticised his Star Wars death scene, revealing he wanted more from his final showdown. The Naked Gun actor played Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in George Lucas ’s prequel Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) – but his character perished in a lightsaber duel with Darth Maul.

On a recent episode of GQ’s “ Most Iconic Characters ,” Neeson, who plays Qui-Gon Jinn in the “Star Wars” prequel, joked that his death in the film was “a bit namby-pamby” and that he thought a Jedi master would fare better in a battle with a Sith lord.
