Forecasters say Storm Floris is to bring winds of up to 85mph as Met Office weather warnings remain in place across Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England

Storm Floris, the first rough weather front of the summer, has hit the British Isles this morning. The Met Office named the storm, which is expected to hit with 90mph gusts, as it issued two yellow weather warnings. An amber weather warning is in place for the majority of Scotland between 10am and 10pm.

Much of Scotland will be battered by heavy rain and winds of up to 85mph, the Met Office warned as it upgraded warnings to amber.
