Loni Anderson, the actress, who has died two days short of her 80th birthday, combined eye-popping glamour with superb comic timing as the radio station receptionist Jennifer Marlowe in the popular sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati (1978–1982);

She received two Emmy noms for being "the smartest person in the room" on the CBS sitcom and tons of tabloid attention for her 1988-94 marriage to Burt Reynolds.

Loni Anderson, whose role as Jennifer Marlowe on "WKRP in Cincinnati" was nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards, has died, her publicist confirmed Sunday. She was 79.
