Linebacker Whit Weeks has been ruled out, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, who initially reported Friday that the standout defender was listed as doubtful. Thamel noted that Weeks was going to try and warm up and attempt to play, but has now been ruled out due to an ankle injury, specifically a bone bruise.
Brian Kelly’s firing came after a “very tense” meeting with LSU’s athletic director. Scott Woodward met with Kelly Sunday after the team’s ugly home loss to Texas A&M the day before and clashed over staff changes, according to The Athletic.
Kelly has failed in the biggest games at LSU. He’s just 5-11 against ranked opponents during his three-plus seasons.
