THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A week after a gas explosion killed one and injured at least 15 others at a Bronx apartment building, residents are blaming management for “neglect,” saying their previous reports of smelling gas went unanswered.
The Nashua fire chief described Monday's response to a gas leak, explosion and fire as a "complete success," even though three firefighters were injured, because everyone in the building was able to get out safely.
The four-alarm fire tore through the Greater Nashua Mental Health building on Amherst Street, where about 40 people were working inside when a ruptured natural gas line was reported, fire officials said.
Three firefighters were injured when a natural gas leak caused an explosion and fire at a New Hampshire mental health center, but the building’s tenants and clients all evacuated safely.
Two of the three firefighters injured in last Monday's natural gas explosion at the Greater Nashua Mental Health building have been released from the hospital.
