Taiwan’s premier has hailed a new trade deal with the United States as the “best tariff deal” enjoyed by countries with trade surpluses with Washington, while an official in Beijing condemned the accord.
US companies are more upbeat about doing business in China after a trade truce between President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, according to a survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in China.
Most respondents in almost all the surveyed countries believed that, a year into Trump’s second term, China is on the verge of becoming even more powerful.
