The thunderstorms are not forecast to be severe, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
On Thursday, skies will be brighter, temperatures will be warmer, and it will be breezier.
While Thursday offered a summer-like preview with highs reaching the mid-80s, the forecast suggests a split weekend.
An updated weather alert was issued by the NWS Fort Worth TX on Saturday at 8:40 a.m. for strong thunderstorms until 9:15 a.m. The alert is for Johnson, Ellis and Hill counties.
Sunday is expected to start with showers, which could continue until 1 p.m. with day temperatures topping out at 79 degrees.
North Texas faces a conditional severe weather risk Sunday with potential for ping-pong hail and 65 mph winds. Western counties see over 1" of rain while DFW awaits afternoon storm development.
Monday, April 13, will be mostly dry with only a small 20% chance of an isolated shower or storm.
