TONIGHT Lake-effect snow, heavy at times, will last through the overnight, most persistent along and west of US-131. Several inches of accumulation are likely. Winds will increase toward daybreak, as low temperatures fall to the lower teens.

Northwest Indiana deals with heavy snow, blistering winds in latest winter blast
Northwest Indiana was hit by heavy snow and strong winds while Chicago stayed clear and sunny. A 30-vehicle pileup shut down part of the Indiana Toll Road in Elkhart County, and lake-effect snow made travel difficult in Porter County. Bitter cold and dangerous wind chills remain in the area.
The NFL's "Elite Eight" will meet this weekend to determine which teams from each conference will play for the right to advance to the Super Bowl. Two games in the NFC and two in the AFC will determine the participants in next week's conference championship games,
