INDIANAPOLIS — As Central Indiana is expected to be impacted by severe winter weather, officials with the Indianapolis Department of Public Works are urging Hoosiers to avoid unnecessary travel this weekend.

Several inches of heavy snowfall could soon blanket Central and Southern Indiana, according to the National Weather Service.
