Incoming cold air is going to set the stage for a couple of snow chances in Massachusetts this weekend, the latest weather forecast shows. Halfway through January, Boston has seen nine straight days of above-average temperatures, and snow has been well below average with only 1.1 inches in the city so far.
A series of cold storms systems will continue to work from the Midwest into the Northeast through early next week, bringing several rounds of snow and brutally cold air. By Sunday morning, cold air should catch up with rain along the I-95 corridor to bring accumulating wintry weather to the busy interstate and some coastal areas.
