“It was so synchronized,” Tauheed Epps, the Grammy-winning hip-hop artist and entrepreneur known as 2 Chainz, told an audience at Atlanta’s Tara Theater recently in a tone tinged with nostalgia and awe. “Doors opened up at the same time. It was almost beautiful, but it wasn’t.”

Before he became a Grammy Award-winning rapper, 2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, was a street hustler from College Park, Ga., on the pathway to self-destruction. And now, the hip-hop star has released a new book about his life before stardom and his spiritual journey to turn his life around.

Last month, Lil Wayne dropped his latest album, Tha Fix Before Tha VI. But he’s not done. His long-awaited collaborative project, ColleGroove 2, with 2 Chainz, is still in the pipeline. However, one of the rappers might have revealed its release date.

The daughter of rapper 2 Chainz will be attending Howard University this fall. Heaven Epps received an acceptance letter in December 2025 and has toured the university campus several times ahead of her enrollment. The rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, and Heaven’s mother, Kesha Ward Epps, both attended HBCUs.

Chainz’s debut memoir The Voice In My Head Is God debuts at No. 10 on The New York Times Best Sellers list for nonfiction.
