The Department of Justice launched an investigation into Cuomo on Tuesday night, alleging the New York Democrat lied in a congressional hearing about decisions he made during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rich Azzopardi, a spokesperson for the Democratic former governor, said that they had not been informed of the federal investigation and defended Cuomo’s testimony to Congress.
