In a crowded Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Cedar Rapids on Tuesday evening, "Mayor" Pete Buttigieg told more than 1,600 people that America is facing its "most profound test in generations."

Pete Buttigieg hosted a town hall earlier this week in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and media asked whether he would run for president.

We are being tested on nothing less than whether the United States of America is in fact the freedom-loving people that we believe and know ourselves to be.”

Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg will be in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday afternoon for a town hall focused on veterans and military families and "the recent wave of policy decisions that have negatively impacted Americans.

Buttigieg spoke for about 20 minutes to start off his portion of the town hall before opening the town hall up for questions and answers.
