Elon Musk and DOGE have been trying to slash their way through the federal government, offering buyouts to and laying off scores of workers. Many of their actions are now the subject of lawsuits.

The findings come as federal workers terminated at the behest of Musk voice their displeasure at town halls across the country.

The recently created Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, led by Elon Musk says it has saved approximately $115 billion through various cuts. DOGE posted on its website the receipts of $17.9 billion from contract cuts,
