HARVARD LAWSUIT: A federal judge appeared to lean in favor of Harvard University during arguments today in its lawsuit over the Trump administration's cuts to the school's research funding.
Harvard challenges Trump's $2.6 billion research funding cuts in court, arguing the freeze violates First Amendment rights and threatens cancer research and security efforts.
"The consequences, should the hypothesis turn out to be correct, could potentially be dire for humanity," said Avi Loeb.
As Harvard University faces billions of dollars in federal funding cuts, Harvard Medical School is receiving an influx of donations, according to a letter sent by George Q. Daley, Harvard’s Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Gita Gopinath, the No. 2 official at the International Monetary Fund, will leave her post at the end of August to return to Harvard University, the IMF said in a statement on Monday. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva will name a successor to Gopinath in "due course," the IMF said.
