The Met Office has issued a rare amber warning in three parts of the UK, which are set to experience some of the worst of a heavy spell of rainfall on Sunday evening into Monday.

Across the north of the country, including Greater Manchester, a yellow weather warning for rain is in place on Sunday (July 20). The warning runs from 11am to 10pm, as the region will likely experience showery rain, which could sometimes be heavy and perhaps thundery.
