Jen Pawol is set to become the first woman to umpire in Major League Baseball when she works games this weekend between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves.

Pawol will work both ends of the Saturday doubleheader between the Braves and Marlins at Truist Park and then also work the Sunday series finale,

MLB is set to break new ground this weekend during a series between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves. The league announced that umpire Jen Pawol will be working the three-game series, making her the first woman in MLB history to umpire regular-season games.

Analyst Matt Snyder ranked the Marlins at No. 15, noting, “Since June 19, the Marlins have lost just one series and that was to the best team in baseball (and, later, the Marlins beat the Brewers in a series). And you know what? It isn't out of the question for them to make the playoffs. What a run.”
