New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art came alive with tributes to Black history, culture and style as the annual Met Gala got underway Monday evening.

It’s the first Monday in May, which for those in the fashion world know means one thing: the Met Gala! This year, the star-studded event will celebrate the Costume Institute’s exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,
