A mix of snow and ice was beginning to fall across the Midwest and Northeast as tens of millions of people braced for a major winter storm.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and predicts 2 to 4 inches of snow for the region. Travel difficulties are expected due to slick road conditions, especially during the Tuesday morning commute.

Parts of the Texas panhandle have a chance at seeing at least an inch of snow from Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Temperatures will be in the 30s in many places but conditions will feel colder because of winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour, at least in the morning.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that it is temporarily reducing the speed on several roadways in the Harrisburg region due to the ongoing winter storm. In a press release, PennDOT said that while it had been treated the roads, they will not completely free of ice and snow and caution should be applied.
