Macy’s announced the closing of 66 of its stores nationwide, including five in South Florida, as part of its “Bold New Chapter” strategy. That strategy is hardly a secret as the New York retail giant said last year Macy’s would close up to 150 under-performing stores through 2026 in an effort to shore up flagging profits.

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Several South Florida Macy’s stores and Furniture Galleries are expected to close in the coming months. Macy’s made the announcement in a media release on Thursday to close nearly 150 underperforming stores across the country over the next three years.

Macy's released the locations of 66 stores slated to be closed. Seven are located in Florida. They are: Boca Raton Furniture, at 9339 Glades Road in Boca Raton, was included in an earlier closure announcement by Macy's. The company said clearance sales at Macy's stores will begin in January and will run for approximately 8 to12 weeks.
