COLLEGE STATION — After overpowering the LSU Tigers during a night game in Death Valley, Texas A&M football now deserves to be viewed as a serious national championship contender. As a result, the Aggies remain in the top three, ranked No. 3 in the US LBM coaches poll and the AP Top 25 poll following the 49-25 win over the Tigers.

BYU does have to face both Cincinnati and Texas Tech over the last month, though it can split those games and still reach 11 wins. The Big 12 champion and the loser of the Big 12 Championship Game both deserve a spot in the playoff, at the very least -- if not more.

While Texas A&M has become a national contender and LSU has had some struggles, both programs have recruited well once again.
