Carnival Cruise Line issued a statement following the release of a Netflix documentary covering Carnival Triumph's infamous "poop cruise."

The Carnival Triumph, stranded after an engine fire on February 10, was adrift without power, air conditioning, or functioning toilets. Passengers used blankets to shield themselves from the sun while seeking refuge on the open deck.

Following the so-called Poop Cruise, Carnival Triumph was renamed Carnival Sunrise. “After this incident Carnival spent $115million cleaning, repairing and refitting The Triumph,” the Netflix doc explained. “Today she still sails under her new name, Carnival Sunrise.”
