Nick Castellanos has been benched by Phillies manager Rob Thomson for “an inappropriate comment” the outfielder made after he was pulled for a defensive replacement a day earlier.

But, it’s not because of injury or performance, it’s because of an “inappropriate comment” manager Rob Thomson says he made when being pulled from Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins. Castellanos was replaced in the bottom of the eighth inning of the game by Johan Rojas as a defensive substitution in right field.
