For the NL, ex-Red Sox star Mookie Betts was named a finalist at shortstop. Phase 2 voting begins at Noon on Monday, June 30 and ends at the same time on Wednesday, July 2.

Voting for phase one of the 2025 MLB All-Star has been completed, with reigning MVPs, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani being the first two named to the Game, to absolutely nobody's surprise, after being the leading vote-getters in the American and National League, respectively.

The Boston Red Sox added All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman in the offseason to bolster their infield. However, injuries to Bregman and other position players have depleted their infield options.
