Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” and Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” dominated the U.K. and Ireland box office in May, driving the market to a robust £109.1 million ($147.

The Disney live-action remake scored another $176.1 million globally for a worldwide take of $610.8 million so far.

The two films are fueling the biggest Memorial Day weekend in history, while 'Lilo & Stitch' will supplant Tom Cruise's 'Top Gun: Maverick' as the holiday's top opener of all time (he's also the mainstay star of the 'M:I' series).
