Yellow weather warnings for wind and heavy rain have been issued for large parts of the UK as a new storm is set to wreak havoc following Éowyn last week.

A new weather warning for ice and snow has been issued by the Met Office this morning, set to come into effect on Saturday evening at around tea time. In a statement, a Met Office spokesperson said snow showers and icy patches may lead to "some travel disruption for this evening and overnight".

A massive storm is battering parts of the U.K. and Ireland today, bringing devastating winds, heavy rain and snow, according to the Met Office, the United Kingdom's national weather and climate service.

The UK is still recovering from the fierce impact of Storm Éowyn, but must now brace itself for another weather system which will affect conditions.

A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued by the Met Office covering the whole of Northern Ireland. It comes into force at 7pm on Friday, January 24, and will remain in place until Saturday, January 25, at 10am. It comes as a red warning for wind due to Storm Eowyn is in force across the region on Friday until 2pm.

Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland are braced for a storm spiraling in from the Atlantic, bringing gusts of up to 100 m.p.h., with forecasters warning of a danger to life.
