A lost hiker missing for three weeks in the California mountains miraculously survived when she stumbled upon an unlocked cabin that had been left open by its owner for this exact situation — and was rescued just in time to celebrate her 28th birthday.
FORESTHILL — Two hikers are alive and well after being rescued in a remote area outside of Foresthill. It happened Friday afternoon along the Mumford Bar Trail, about 20 miles from Foresthill. According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the hikers lost the trail and ran out of food.
