Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers hasn't spent much time in his football life anywhere other than the top of the totem pole. But after joining the Dolphins as a seventh-round pick, the former No. 1 overall high school recruit and three-year Texas starter is fighting for the right to be No. 3 on the Dolphins' depth chart.

Ewers was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft with the No. 231 overall pick. The former Texas quarterback is the first reported member of the Dolphins' draft class to sign his rookie contract. Ewers' contract value was previously estimated to be approximately $4.3 million by Over the Cap.

I didn’t expect to fall as low as I did,” Ewers said Friday as the Dolphins opened rookie minicamp. “It is what it is at the end of the day, and I have the same opportunity that everybody else does, and I’m beyond thankful for that.
