Stanford is in the process of hiring former NFL head coach Frank Reich after firing Troy Taylor last week. Taylor posted a 6-18 record over two seasons after coming over from Sacramento State before the 2023 season.

According to multiple reports, Frank Reich will take over as Stanford’s interim head coach for the 2025 season. Reich, 63, was most recently the Panthers head coach in 2023. He was fired 11 games into the season after Carolina went 1-10 to begin quarterback Bryce Young’s career.

The Justice Department investigation, led by its Civil Rights Division, will examine admissions policies at Stanford University, University of California Berkeley, University of California Los Angeles and University of California Irvine. Stanford already is in compliance with federal law, spokeperson Dee Mostofi said Thursday.
