Suspect in 1983 cold case murder returned to Iowa - MSNOn October 5th of 1983, McCauley’s body was found near 33rd Street off of Floyd Boulevard. The gravel road where her body was found no longer exists in Sioux City, it has since been paved over.
As of Saturday, March 8, 62-year-old Thomas Popp was booked into the Woodbury County Jail on a $3 million bond for the murder of 18-year-old Terri McCauley more than 40 years ago.
McCauley was reported missing by her family after she went out in September 1983 to meet friends in downtown Sioux City and never came home. Her body was found in a ditch months later in October 1983.
