Universal Pictures announced Christopher Nolan's next film will be truly epic. He's bringing Homer to the big screen with his version of The Odyssey.

Nolan is also behind epic films including “Inception,” “The Dark Knight,” “Dunkirk” and his most recent film “Oppenheimer,” which scored big at last year’s Oscars when it took home the trophy for best picture. Nolan won that award as a producer, and also took home the Academy Award for best director.

Universal Pictures' social media confirmed that Christopher Nolan’s is working on an adaptation of "The Odyssey" that will bring "Homer’s foundational Saga to IMAX film screens for the first time."

According to Production Weekly, filming for Christopher Nolan's ambitious adaptation of The Odyssey is officially starting this January. The production is expected to wrap by April, with the film slated for a theatrical release in July 2026. This carefully planned schedule suggests that the director is aiming for a monumental cinematic experience.
