Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD)  agreed to acquire WonderFi Technologies (OTCQB:WONDF) (WNDR:CA) for a total equity value of C$250M (US$179M), boosting Robinhood's crypto business in Canada, the companies said on Tuesday.

Shares of Robinhood Markets, Inc. HOOD soared 9% on Tuesday as it announced an agreement to acquire Canada-based WonderFi Technologies Inc. in a C$250 million all-cash deal. The transaction aims to deepen the company’s presence in the Canadian digital asset market.

WonderFi's platforms, Bitbuy and Coinsquare, bolster Robinhood's international expansion efforts in the crypto market.
