Coco Gauff delivered one of the funniest scenes of the 2025 season after firing a serve while Zheng Qinwen was at her bench changing rackets. After around two hours and 15 minutes of play, the American and the Chinese were tied to a set apiece and at the start of the third set when the American claimed a break in the very first game of the decider.

Zheng Qinwen said she lacked "a killer instinct" in the key moments against Coco Gauff but also tried to draw positives and claimed she learned some valuable lessons ahead of the French Open.
