One Day 's Remy Beasley will play Janine's past adversary Rhiannon, Mammoth's Mike Bubbins is Desk Sergeant Tony, and Extraordinary's Rithvik Andugula has been cast as junior officer DC Evan Chaudhry.

Steffan Rhodri, Alexandria Riley and Melanie Walters join Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth in the brand-new comedy drama Death Valley, a BBC Studios Comedy Production for BBC Two, BBC One Wales and BBC iPlayer, written and created by BAFTA-nominated Paul Doolan.

It has now been revealed that Steffan Rhodri and Melanie Walters (aka Dave Coaches and Gwen West from Gavin & Stacey) are both joining the show, with Rhodri playing DCI Clarke, Janie's boss and so-called mentor, and Walters playing Yvonne, Janie's 'no boundaries' mother.

The drama, which was announced back in May and comes from Paul Doolan, will see the Sixth Commandment star play a retired actor, famous for playing a fictional detective on TV who finds himself teaming up with a real detective (Gwyneth Keyworth) to solve a crime.
