Former University of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron, who helped lead the team to back-to-back national championships, announced Thursday that he running for lieutenant governor of Alabama. McCarron made the announcement in a video posted to YouTube on Thursday.

Jasper earned a 61-22 homecoming victory over Columbia at KiRo-Gambrell Field on Friday, handing the Eagles their 100th straight loss. The 22 points marks the second-highest offensive output for the Eagles this season, but Columbia’s defense has allowed more than 60 points in two straight games.
