Charles Leclerc was furious when pole position at his home Grand Prix was snatched away from him by F1 rival Lando Norris. A scintillating lap put the Monegasque on provisional pole towards the end of Q3, and he stayed there right up until Norris pipped him by just over a tenth of a second.

MONACO — Lando Norris secured pole position for the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, surviving the red flags and competitors’ close calls in what turned out to be a tight qualifying session.

Lewis Hamilton was fifth, but as he chased a late improvement the seven-time world champion lost control over his Ferrari in the long left-hander of Massenet, sliding into the barriers with his right-rear and then right-front, causing a red flag that effectively ended the session.

Charles Leclerc has swept all three practice sessions after topping an intriguing FP3 at the Monaco Grand Prix truncated by a Lewis Hamilton crash with two minutes remaining.
