Budget proposals by House Republicans would cut billions of dollars in funding for Biden-era climate and environmental programs, including clean energy tax credits, as lawmakers seek to reverse what one GOP leader called “the most reckless parts of the engorged climate spending" approved under former President Joe Biden.

U.S. House lawmakers laid out plans on Monday to phase out clean energy tax credits, slash spending on electric vehicles and renewable energy, and claw back other climate-related funds as part of the Republicans' attempt to pass a multi-trillion-dollar budget in line with President Donald Trump's agenda.

The initiative is part of efforts to pass a multi-trillion-pound budget that reflects the priorities of the Trump administration.
