According to a Salt Lake City Police Department news release, Holly Angelina Smith lost her custodial rights of her 1-year-old baby girl. She was then asked to hand her daughter over to state custody when she allegedly took the child on Friday, triggering an AMBER Alert.

Robles-Prieto was also arrested for child endangerment as he allegedly knew about the AMBER Alert but helped conceal Smith and the baby girl, as well as providing false information to officers.
