The Boston Celtics are sending veteran guard Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Anfernee Simons and two second-round picks.

Jrue Holiday is headed to Portland. The Trail Blazers struck a deal with the Boston Celtics to acquire Holiday on Monday night, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. In exchange, the Trail Blazers are sending Anfernee Simons and a pair of future second-round draft picks to Boston.

The Boston Celtics have to make trades this offseason to avoid having the most expensive roster in the NBA next season. With that said, Dan Favale of Bleacher Report thinks the Celtics will trade Jrue Holiday.
