This weekend begins the month-long observance of Ramadan. In Houston, a month of events and celebrations are part of the religious and cultural observance for the city’s Muslim population, the largest in Texas.

Ramadan comes at a time of massive change for many Muslims, including those in Gaza and Syria.

Muslims in Texas, along with millions of other muslims across the world will prepare for a month of fasting, spirituality and reflection for Ramadan.
