Boston Red Sox designated hitter Rafael Devers became the first major leaguer to strike out 12 times in a season’s first four games. Devers went 0 for 4 with two more strikeouts Sunday in Boston’s 3-2 loss to the Texas Rangers.

Texas bounced back from the SEC Tournament loss to take care of business in the NCAA Tournament. They rolled past William & Mary in the opening round, winning 105-61 led by star forward Madison Booker’s 20 points and 14 rebounds.

For the first time since the 2008 NCAA Tournament, all four No. 1 seeds have qualified for the Final Four, in 2025.

Marcus Foster scored 22 points and Zach Freemantle added 15 while overcoming foul trouble as Xavier rallied past Texas 86-80 in a First Four game at Dayton.

The crowd reached a crescendo when 7-foot, 270-pound reserve center John Hugley IV gave Xavier its first lead, 75-74, of the second half with a 3-pointer with 5:07 left in the game. Texas tied it 78-78 on a layup by Jayson Kent at the 2:53 mark, but the Longhorns wouldn’t make another shot from the field.

Auburn knocked off Michigan State on Sunday evening to complete a Final Four of exclusively top seeds. Duke will meet Houston, while Florida will face Auburn in San Antonio.
