From April 9th to 12th 1917, the Battle of Vimy Ridge was fought. Canada's most celebrated military victory, it is often considered the birth of Canadian national pride. Taking place on the Western Front of northern France, the four divisions of the Canadian Corps. attacked the ridge for 4 days straight, eventually capturing it from the German army.
